Our most popular product — handy pocket guides as compilations of common birds in a specific region. A selection of 135 – 165 species have been categorised by habitat and behaviour, with symbols indicating further information for quick reference. Its 3.5″ x 8.5″ dimensions make it easy to use on field, and it is laminated for additional protection. The illustrations have been used with permission from one of the popular field guides to the Indian subcontinent.
Currently we have pocket guides available in English (Peninsular India, Spiti/Ladakh, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Western Ghats, Nagaland and, Northeastern India) and bilingual guides for different regions in several languages, including Assamese (Birds of Assam Plains), Bengali (Birds of West Bengal), Hindi (Birds of Chhattisgarh, Birds of Madhya Pradesh, Birds of Rajasthan, Birds of Uttarakhand), Gujarati (Birds of Gujarat), Kannada (Birds of Karnataka), Konkani (Birds of Goa), Malayalam (Birds of Kerala), Marathi (Birds of Maharashtra), Odia (Birds of Odisha), Tamil (Birds of Tamil Nadu) and Telugu (Birds of Andhra Pradesh).
We have collaborated with various organisations and local groups to produce these pocket guides, and have also created specialised pocket guides (Birds of Kanha, Birds of Nandankanan, Birds of Tadoba) for forest departments on request. The pocket guides have been used in programmes to train forest guards, by organisations involved in education and outreach, and by amateur birders as a handy reference during their bird walks.
